Chief Financial Officer

It's refreshing to represent a Company that has achieved impressive growth year on year - pre GFC and post GFC. Revenues and profits are forecast to double over the course of the next 3 years.

But this story gets even better! The finance function is in good shape. It's not "broken" or in need of a complete overhaul. It is well staffed by competent professionals and is driven by a state of the art ERP platform.

So where's the challenge in a role like this, you might ask yourself? Well, the answer lies in taking this finance function and the role of CFO to the next level of its natural evolution - that being a commercial business partner to the CEO and the executive leadership team.

This role is best suited to an aspiring CFO rather than an established senior finance executive because of the requirement for "hands-on" accounting mixed with the emerging focus on providing commercial insight and support to the broader management group.

A background in manufacturing and distribution is essential. Familiarity with standard and activity based costing, supply chain and inventory management, product pricing and cost recovery will allow the successful candidate to make an immediate impact on the business.

Are you up to the challenge?
Opportunities to access a Sydney based, senior leadership role in one of Australia's most prominent Resource Industry sectors are rare. So too, are the mix of skills we are seeking in this appointment.

You will probably be Big 4 qualified with a background in Transaction Services, but also posess the "hands-on" skills necessary to fullfill your responsibilities in day-to-day financial management, ASX and Board reporting, taxation and treasury management, modelling and decision support. Exposure to Company Secretarial practice in a listed environment would be favourably regarded.

The above is just the day job! We know we are asking for a lot but the upside to this role is the exposure and experience you will gain in M&A, JV and commercial negotiations, contract reviews, strategy development and execution, structured finance - to name but a few skill sets which will be fully leveraged in this highly attractive role.

Personal attributes sought include an unpretentious "can do" attitude, a preparedness to engage with a wide range of stakeholders and provide value add outcomes, the commercial maturity to identify opportunities and effectively communicate the associated risks and benefits.
